The Week Ahead for 02/25/13
Hey everyone!
Ive got a great week coming up for you guys. The schedule looks like this ...
Tuesday 4pm EST/ 10pm CET - Climbing The Ladder #46 - "Plight of the eSports Photographer" w/ guests Zhang "zemotion" Jingna, Kevin "Silverfire" Chang, Helen Kristiansson, and Carlton Beener. We'll be going in-depth into the challenges photographers are dealing with in eSports like lack of respect for licensing, wages, and recognition. The guests we're having have worked at most the major events (MLG, Dreamhack, IPL, etc) and have produced some of the iconic SC2 pictures that we know as a community. Im really excited about this episode and can't wait for the discussion.
Wednesday 9pm EST - Wednesday Night Sprites #10 - Sniper Pro Mod Spotlight. The crew (myself, machine, livinpink, and temp0) will be spotlighting this SC2 arcade game with special guest John Edwards (one of the creators) to walk us through the game. It's a really fun ghost style capture the flag so I can't wait to play some games with everyone. Note, we've moved the starting time to be earlier to try something different.
Thursday 4pm EST/10pm CET - Pro Corner #98 w/ guest mouz.Illusion. We have the pleasure of having Chris "mouzIllusion" Lee on to hang out with us and talk about his new team as well as the period where he was team less. Also we'll get his thoughts on HotS and how excited he is about 2013. We'll also have him walk us through a replay or 2 of his HotS games explaining strategy. We'll finish off the show with the community interactive segments: Q&A, the mouzIllusion Fan Art Contest, and a Razer Messenger Bag Giveaway. Hope you guys can tune in for great discussion and strategy with an amazing terran player and everything else!

Climbing The Ladder #45 w/ guests David Ting (IPL General Manager) and Kevin Johnson (Blizzard SC2 Community Manager) on Tuesday 4pm EST/10pm CET . David has IPL6 announcements and Kevin will discuss HotS launch and community topics.
Wednesday Night Sprites #9 - Another SC2 Arcade game spotlight. I will announce which game in the next day or so. This will be Wednesday 10:30pm EST.
Pro Corner - Thursday 4pm EST/ 10pm CET. More details soon.
Subscriber Only Giveaway - We will be doing our first subscriber only giveaway of 2013. The prize is a Razer Banshee headset (the one that changes color depending on your APM). This will either happen during Wednesday Night Sprites or Pro Corner. I will let folks know via Twitter.

The Week Ahead - 2/11/13 - 2/17/13
Hey everyone!
So I've re-titled these weekly update posts to be "The Week Ahead". Seems to make more sense since it's all about the upcoming week. Here's what's coming:
Climbing The Ladder #44 w/ guest Shaun "dApollo" Clark - Tuesday 4pm EST / 10pm CET. We'll be discussing a little bit of news and a lot about his ascension as a caster, experience with GD studios/Agency, and much more SC2. Have your questions ready!
Wednesday Night Sprites #8 - Dinner and Gaming+ Star Battle Spotlight - Wednesday 10:30pm EST. We'll be doing something fun for Valentines day which we've called "Dinner and Gaming". We'll start off the show dining with you guys and then go into another thorough walkthrough of the very popular Starcraft 2 game Star Battle. Hopefully we will also have on creator "OldEnt" as our guest to answer any of our questions and guide us through. Be sure to join our "wining and dining" and play a game or 2 with us!
Also a quick update on Pro Corner for those asking, I am making a few changes to the show some minor and some possibly major but I promise we will get everything going very soon.

Weekly Update for 02/04 - 02/10
Superbowl Sunday people! Before I'm off to some festivities I just wanted to get the weekly update out for this week. Some good stuff on the shows this week.
- Climbing The Ladder - Tuesday 4pm EST / 10pm CET with guests David Ting (IPL head honcho) and Bernie "Fujikura" Catalan (COO Quantic Gaming). David will be going into details and hopefully announcing some new things regarding IPL 6. Afterwards, Bernie will hop on and go in depth into the rebirth of Quantic Gaming. Get your questions ready!
- Wednesday Night Sprites - The crew (EG.Machine, iS.Temp0, Eternity.LivinPink, and me) will be back at it playing some more fun SC2 Arcade games. Come join us and play some games. We'll also be giving out as many HotS beta keys as we got for any folks that still don't have one.
- Pro Corner - There is a possibility we have an episode this week. If we do, Ill announce it in the next few days. If not this week, then definitely next week.
We've got some amazing guests/episodes lined up already for the rest of February. Lots of fun discussions incoming!

Weekly Update for 01/2813 - 02/03/13
Hey everyone!
Weekly update time! I wanted start off saying Iron Squid was an amazing event this weekend. Big props to the organizers, casters (<3 Day9, Kaelaris, Khaldor, etc.), hosts (Soe/ToD/etc), and most of the all the crowd! The chants and cheering were amazing even for all of us at home. Iron Squid breaking out the full orchestra and band was pretty cool too. That was also one of the best ZvZ finals Ive seen in a VERY long time. 0-3 comeback? Siiiiiiiick! Congratz to ST.Life with a stunning comeback victory!
Also worth mentioning AWESOME and AMAZING the shared replay/restore/take command feature is in Heart of the Swarm. Ive been eagerly waiting for this feature since it was announced in spring 2012. People that know me can vouch that Ive been saying that this will be THE MOST IMPORTANT thing that's ever happened to Starcraft 2 from a player practice and improvement standpoint. I had been advocating that teams hire map makers in the past to recreate these scenarios for players but the restore replay feature has always been the most optimal way of achieving this. To all teams/players ... PLEASE take advantage of this tool! Structured practice and replay archives should be created by all teams/players. It would be awesome if there was a public repository for replays that the whole community could share too. The level of improvement from all the players (pro and amateur) will be accelerated greatly so get ready for some more refine play people! *chills*

Weekly Update 01/21 - 01/27
Hey everyone! Going to try my best and update you guys using the blog as well as continue posting the audio versions of the shows here.
Just want to start off by giving a huge THANK YOU to all you guys that watched and commented/msged me how much you enjoy and appreciated the last show. As crazy as it might sound, it caught me by surprise and I have to admit it gave me some "nerd chills" which is never a bad thing. So I appreciate the new and continued support and you can count on lots more episodes every week. ;)
But enough about that .. this week's going to be a fun one!
We've got Kevin Lin (COO Twitch.TV) on Climbing The Ladder Tuesday 4pm EST / 10pm CET to continue some of the discussion from this last episode on advertising revenue particularly pertaining to Twitch.TV. For those of you that don't have any idea the workings of the ad revenue model, we're going to try our best to explain as much as we can and clear up any misconceptions some folks might have on how things are weighted right now. We may see some other folks from Twitch TV (djWHEAT or Justin Wong or Stuart Saw) jump on at some points too. So get your questions ready! ;)
Wednesday Night Sprites will be on Wed 10:30pm EST with the full gang (barring internet issues on my end) with some great new unknown arcade games. Come watch me, EG.Machine, iS.Temp0, and LivinPink play/rate some SC2 arcade games and hop on some games with us.
And Pro Corner is tentatively set to start back up this week w/ guest Liquid'TLO on Thursday 4pm EST / 10pm CET. We'll talk to him about IEM Katowice and hopefully snag one of the replays to go over (hopefully one of the Mana ones).
I do have one update about Pro Corner for folks that might not be reading the show's TL thread. Pro Corner will not necessarily be every week moving forward. In the past, Ive pumped these episodes out each and every week which was a lot of fun. But I feel because of the unpredictability in the players' schedules not necessarily lining up with my own commitment to the viewers to have it every week, the quality and impact of the episodes were compromised at times. So I want to change that and have better episodes for the viewers and hopefully better timed episodes to give player guests the most exposure possible. Also I will be lining up some episodes with some great Razer Academy tutorial videos from some of the top players in the world. Everything else will be the same with giveaways and q&a. I just wanted to give you the heads up about the change in the frequency.
